Sam Schoenfeld Sportsmanship Award

It is my pleasure to announce that the Mens Basketball team has been awarded the very prestigious Sam Schoenfeld Sportsmanship Award for the third time.  (1980-81; 1996-97; 2013-14).  The Schoenfeld Award is named for Sam Schoenfeld, one of the founding members of the College Basketball Officials Association (CBOA), who passed away suddenly in 1956. The CBOA has honored Sam’s characteristics of integrity and strong character by recognizing the team or individual who best exemplifies these principles. The Schoenfeld Award is the highest honor the CBOA annually bestows on any collegiate institution The award is presented annually to the team that best exemplifies “the highest degree of sportsmanship, character, and ethics among their players, coaches and spectators.”
